Today is the 50th anniversary of A Chorus Line ⭐️✨🌟 Here’s to 50 more years of step kick kick kick leap kick touch-ing and “what would you do if you couldn’t dance anymore” existentialism. For this special anniversary I decided to be bold and share a side of myself that I never post. Playing Kristine fresh out of AMDA was surreal (I had never even spoken into a mic on stage before 😅) and I had the honor of standing on the line with such incredible talent whom I still consider my great friends. This truly is the show that made me realize I could do this theatre thing forever and I’m so lucky this is where it all started. Mazel Tov!! We opened a show last night! Working with Director @shulerhensley, the MOST amazing choreographer @marlaphelan, and music director Miles Plant has been an unforgettable experience and truly an honor. Hannah Morrison moved to New York City to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy after 15 years of competitive training at Dance Arts Centre in Suwanee, GA under Jeff Boss and Jamie Wardrop. Post graduation from the Theater Dance Conservatory program, Hannah played Kristine in ‘A Chorus Line’ at Arts Center of Coastal Carolina and a Hot Box Girl/ Fashionable Couple in ‘Guys and Dolls’ at Axelrod Performing Arts Center. Since moving back home to Atlanta, she has been dancing commercially for television, film, and industrial events through XCEL Talent Agency. She teaches and choreographs for multiple studios, metro-Atlanta and beyond, and is very proud that her home studio is DANCE LAB Performing Arts Centre owned by Ellie Espinosa in Duluth, GA. Her pieces have won multiple National Championships, Entertainment Awards, and Choreography Awards across the nation. Most recently, Hannah has reconnected with her passion for live theatre and was cast as the Dance Captain/ Ensemble for ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ and a Silly Girl in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at City Springs Theatre Company in Sandy Springs, GA. Hannah has also been involved with the ATL contemporary company scene dancing in/ choreographing for Admix Project’s ‘Surface’ directed by Rachel Truitt and was a guest artist for RISK’s ‘Five More Minutes’ directed by Brady Michael. She is currently setting choreo for Admix Projects’ upcoming show, ‘Kairos’. Hannah is also excited to be on faculty for Caliber Dance Convention which premiers this fall. Hannah excels in musical theatre, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and more, but to her the most important part of dance is sharing what cannot be said with words. Provoking thought, empathy, and emotion purely with movement is the intention, and every day she’s so grateful that she gets to do what she loves and share that with students and audiences. ✨#DANCELIKEABOSS ✨ ———————- I’d like to thank each and every human I have ever worked with. 🩶 St. Jude 🩶 Lois Tonkin’s model of ‘growing around grief’ shows how we can still grieve the loss of a loved one while carrying on with our own lives.. it shows that we can grow a new life which includes the loss. This song was sent to me by a very good friend when I really needed it and I knew one day I’d create to it. Throwin it back Thursday to one of the most fulfilling and dream come true moments of my life… 🚨(theatre nerd moment alert)🚨 A Chorus Line is a musical that every dancer should watch and/or aspire to be a part of. Every moment on that stage was immensely meaningful and I remember falling more and more in love with the show, cast, characters, and music every time we hit the stage. It was an honor to be in a show about dancers having a voice ((even though i didn’t have a voice to save my life if u know what i mean 😜)) I love musical theatre because of the joy, lessons, story telling, and vulnerability that comes along with it. I try to incorporate everything theatre has taught me into all of my dancing, choreo, etc. Anyways rant over just wanted to share a piece of my heart today ♥️
